. . . bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. --Ephesians 6:4b Post Office Tour/The Accidental Artist/Snow Cones--July 10We have been invited to New Bern to take advantage of a guided tour of a local post office (1851 South Glenburnie Road). I'm very excited about this because my mother retired from the post office after working for over 20 years and I always had so much fun when she took me to work with her. The post office would like the children to bring a letter in an addressed envelope with $.42 to purchase postage. The children will get to see first hand what happens with their letters as it is processed at the post office. Immediately following our time at the post office, we will be traveling over to The Accidental Artist, which is a "paint your own pottery" place (www.theaccidentalartistnc.com). Our studio time will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and they are allowing us to bring in our lunch and eat there (bring your own or stop on the way and pick something up). The cost for the pottery place is $8.00/family for "studio time and supplies" PLUS you pay for the pottery piece(s) that you paint (prices vary). And--as if all this wasn't enough--we'll be stopping for snow cones on our way back to Jacksonville. I will need an RSVP for this event so we can coordinate caravans and carpools.
Monkey Joe's/Ice Skating--July 17Monkey Joe's at 11:00 AM--$8.00 per person which includes lunch. Ice Skating at 1:30 PM--$5.00 per skater which includes skate rental.
Cedar Circle Ladies' Bible Study--July 21Join us at Carol's house at 10:00 AM for our last Cedar Circle Ladies' Bible Study. This month we will begin in Chapter 24 and complete the book. The book we are using is called "30 Days to Understanding the Bible" by Max Anders, 2005 version. Child care will be provided by our high schoolers during this time.
Our MissionTo provide Christian, group activities and support to homeschoolers in Onslow and surrounding counties through which our families will grow in fellowship one with another and in the way of the Lord, while providing the flexibility and variety essential to integrate with current curriculum schedules.
