Hi, I have been thinking about making the switch from public to home school. I have two girls currently in 2nd and 3rd grade. My oldest is ADHD and I'm afraid she falling between the cracks and not getting the one on one attention she needs to really excel. I would love to get more information on what it would take to make the transition. My email is CRochat1202@gmail.com Any information you could give me to get this process started or to point me in the right direction would be greatly apreciated. Thank you!

Christine--You do not have to order register with the state until right before your child's 7th birthday. No need to be concerned at the moment about requirements since she is 2 years old. To answer your question about the vaccinations, that is exactly what you would do. Just keep the information from the doctor that you are not vaccinating and you're set. For full details about homeschooling in NC, click the link above for the DNPE Homeschool Guidebook. Hope this helps.

Hey! My daughter is 2 years and I was thinking about starting a small preschool set up for her. But as i was looking into this I realized, when do we start preschool and what comes after (and at what age?). I also read that you have to maintain vaccines! We don't vaccinate(not the reason we want to homeschool.) so what do we do about that? Do we just have to maintain the 'we don't want to vaccinate' papers the pediatrician gives us? I have no idea how to get started but I'm so dedicated to homeschooling.

I have a question. In researching curriculum, is there a curriculum out there that is hands-on book based academics but that comes with computer based software that would administer quizzes/tests or assessment of retention and learning? Does this make sense? We are venturing into LifePac for first grade next year but also looking more long term into curriculum that will carry until 12th grade.
